Lead UX Researcher
To take Contra to the next level, we're looking for a Lead UX Researcher to join our growing team ?
As the Lead UX Researcher, you'll shape our research processes and work closely with the Product and Design teams to lead, execute, and guide Contra’s research efforts.

You should apply if you
- Have lead critical research efforts and conducted mixed-method studies that deepen our understanding of the user experience and drive product strategy.
- Understand the importance of optimizing time to value and have a knack for balancing speed with sound research practices
- Have a passion for qualitative and quantitative methodologies (including A-B/multi-variate testing using tools like Mixpanel – bonus points for SQL knowledge and/or experience with BI tools like Looker)
- You have a bias toward action, enabling our team to make quick and data-driven decisions
- Have led prototype testing, competitive analysis, surveys, exploratory research, detailed personas, and customer journey maps
- Have at least 4+ years of UX research experience (ideally working with multiple user types/marketplaces)
- Bonus: Have worked as a freelancer/independent in the past
You’ll be successful here if
- You are passionate and/or curious about the future of independent work
- You either have a product or design background or have spent most of your career collaborating closely with product and design teams
- You have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- You are familiar with gen-z culture (our target user group is gen-z)
- You can operate in a remote environment (and are within 3 hours Pacific Timezone - PST)
- Bonus: Have excelled in a startup environment
