Tasks
You will be the first software engineer at Coup, working directly with the CTO.
You will help to build Coup’s web platform, both client-side and the backend. Coup is in its early days, so there is plenty to build and ample opportunity to shape the future of Coup’s technology, practices, and culture. Your tasks include:

Tasks
You will be the first software engineer at Coup, working directly with the CTO.
You will help to build Coup’s web platform, both client-side and the backend. Coup is in its early days, so there is plenty to build and ample opportunity to shape the future of Coup’s technology, practices, and culture. Your tasks include:
- Conceive, plan, and build customer-facing experiences and internal tooling, as well as the IT services driving them
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and customers to improve Coup’s offering
- Establish and uphold best practices in engineering, security, design and performance – not only through your work directly, but also by actively shaping how we do things
Some more concrete examples of how you will spend your time at Coup:
- Design and build a new major customer-facing feature, like a web form for gathering complex data, but engineered to look and feel simple and intuitive
- Integrate an external API (likely REST or GraphQL) to gather subsidy-related data from customer systems
- Devise a testing strategy for our web application and implement it
Requirements
You are familiar with (parts of) our tech stack:
- TypeScript-based Next.js / React single-page application
- Firestore DB
- Cloud Functions
- ...other Google Cloud offerings
Furthermore you bring:
- 2+ years experience working full-time as a software engineer on customer-facing products
- Fluency in English, at least basic knowledge of German
