Full Stack Engineer - Ruby on Rails / React.js
Objectives
- Participate in all aspects of agile software development including design, implementation, and deployment
- Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale on AWS
- Work with and manage freelance contractors as needed to assist in getting projects done
- Work primarily in Ruby, React, and JavaScript
- Collaborate via Slack, GitHub comments, documents, and frequent video conferences
Skills & Responsibilities
- Minimum of 3 years of development experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Ruby, RoR, React, and Javascript.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
- Solid understanding of database systems such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, and code standards)
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Experience with cloud hosting solutions such as Heroku and AWS
