Brand Strategist

Description
We are looking for a strategic, data-driven, creative thinker with equal parts analytical thinking, and creative fluency. This candidate will have a solid track record of developing right-fit brand research approaches, collaborating with clients and creative teams to solve complex brand challenges, and showcasing clever and effective ideas across a wide range of industries. This role will work directly with Director, VP, and C-level client contacts, not only supporting the Senior Strategists and Director of Strategy, as well as leading some projects.

Our team has four main offerings: brand strategy, writing, naming, and design, all in service of our focused expertise in launching and refreshing brand identities. This role will contribute to both brand strategy and brand messaging, so copywriting and brand naming skills are a plus. We believe in close collaboration with our clients, so this role will work directly with C-level executives to help lead them through the brand definition and expression process.

You Should Apply If You Have:  
  • Consumer and brand research experience to help develop strong, authentic, differentiating brand positioning statements. This includes but is not limited to: determining what qualitative and quantitative research level is needed, developing research guides, writing interview and survey questions, being the key partner with sourcing and primary research vendors, conducting brand and competitive audits, developing audience personas, programming surveys into 3rd party platforms such as Survey Monkey, Pollfish, and Typeform, reviewing and analyzing data and developing insights for client presentations. 
  • Experience in the corporate rebrand process 
  • Experience working in a creative agency and understanding what it takes to successfully lead clients, and go deep in a wide variety of industries.
  • Stellar communication skills, developing and contributing to giving presentations, and supporting immersion and working sessions with clients.
  • Some experience with or support in defining brand architecture for clients.
  • Ability to create understanding and clarity from vast amounts of data, translating it into meaningful insights at the right level of depth for the right audiences.
  • Partner with teams to produce high-quality presentation materials that engage the client and build trust.
  • A knack for listening more than talking.
  • Ability to ask for and positively leverage internal feedback to continuously deliver great work and grow professionally.
  • An appreciation and understanding of how brand strategy permeates the entire branding process, from design and messaging to applications. 
  • A love for brainstorming and collaboration, with an ability to think and contribute on your feet
  • Desire to work closely with other strategists, writers, namers, designers, and project managers.
  • Ability to champion the best work for our clients, providing rationale for decisions and pushing back as needed in a way that is thoughtful, helpful, trust-building, and honors true partnership

Where We Work
This full-time opportunity can be fully remote, or a hybrid role based in Atlanta. It may include some client travel (when safe and appropriate to do so) as well as occasional in-person Matchstic team meetings.
